The BlackFinn Happy Hour and Poker game May 9th put the fun in fundraising! We enjoyed free appetizers and visiting with friends while raising money through the silent auction, raffle, and poker game. A very special thanks goes out to BlackFinn of Addison for providing a fun and lively venue for our event, great appetizers and a BlackFinn gift card for the silent auction. Thank you to the donors who provided our silent auction items: Rodeo Ford, Pet Specialties Inc., Village Spa in Plano, Texas Specialties, Damon Polk and Cigar Gallery. Congratulations to Bhavin Patel for winning the Texas Hold’em game and the HD Radio prize donated by Rodeo Ford. Thanks to Damon Polk for officiating the evening’s game. Thanks to everyone who came out to support TMD and helped us get closer to our fundraising goal! |

The Makaphutu Children's Village was founded many years ago and moved from one location to another. In 1995, a 20 hectare farm was purchased in the beautiful Valley of 1000 Hills.
Cottages were built to accommodate over 100 children. By appointing a housemother for each cottage the children are able to identify with one person who they can turn to for love, care and affection.
Their dietary requirements are supplied by well balanced meals ensuring adequate quality and quantity of food. Education is ensured by our own Day Care Centre for the pre-school children where they are stimulated by a trained caregiver. The older children attend schools in the local community.
A games room and sports facilities provide fun and enjoyment. A library is being established and we hope to purchase computers in the near future. |

Thank you to all those people who donated to our garage sale. Without your items we would not have had the success we did. We raised about 30% more than we had expected so it was very pleasing indeed. We had planned to do the sale from 6am to noon on Firday and Saturday but decided to go from 6am to about 4pm on both days, this contributed nicely to our increased funds. Cassie, Amber and Stephanie did a great job with thier hands on approach and it was fun to work together on this endeavor. The last fund raiser will be this Friday night at Blackfinn in Addison. Please come out for this final push to get the money we need to go to Africa, Thanks again for all the support!!! |

Our kick off fundraiser for this year was a Pizza and Pasta Night, held at Joe's Pizza, on Thursday April 10th. We had 63 people arrive to enjoy a great dinner. The silent auction prizes were great, thanks to Rodeo Ford, Hilton Hotels, Joe's Pizza, Hidesign, Pet Boutique and Mr. & Mrs. Martin. We had a fantastic turnout and want to thank all those that attended!! |
