On April 25th 2009, the Berkner High School auditorium become the site for the 2009 Country Western Dance off, with all proceeds benefitting TMD! The following High Schools took part, with a special guest appearance by the Texas A&M wranglers: Berkner High School LakeHighlands High School Pearce High School Richardson High School All the students did an amazing job and there was much fun and competition. For a country western dance off there were some decidedly non country songs, several Bon Jovi songs could be heard throughout the performances. Mr Blackman, the President of TMD, spoke briefly at the event and let those in attendance know a little about where their money was going to. Mr Blackman also spoke a little about the Ubuntu bracelet campaign and showed a short clip that tied it into the work TMD is doing in South Africa. Thank you to all the teachers and staff that were involved in putting this together and thank you for your donation, it will go a long way to helping the students in South Africa! |

The award winning Berkner High School Ramblers Country Western dance team will be holding their 4th annual dance off competition and all the proceeds will benefit Teachers Making a Difference. This is an amazing show with 4 of the Richardson ISD High Schools competing against each other. Please come out and show your support!!

Teachers Making a Difference held their third annual Blackfinn fundraiser with much success! A special thank you to Peacan Tree for playing for us and to Blackfinn for being such wonderufl hosts. The next event will be April 25th. Check back for details. |

TMD's second annual pizza and pasta night will be Thursday March 12th at 6:30pm. Joe's is located on the Northwest corner of Campbell and Plano Rd in Richardson. The menu will include Pizza, Pasta, Salad and soft drinks. The total cost is just $15 and that includes a talk at the end of the dinner by the President of TMD, Euan Blackman. The BlackFinn Happy Hour and Poker game May 9th put the fun in fundraising! We enjoyed free appetizers and visiting with friends while raising money through the silent auction, raffle, and poker game. A very special thanks goes out to BlackFinn of Addison for providing a fun and lively venue for our event, great appetizers and a BlackFinn gift card for the silent auction. Thank you to the donors who provided our silent auction items: Rodeo Ford, Pet Specialties Inc., Village Spa in Plano, Texas Specialties, Damon Polk and Cigar Gallery. Congratulations to Bhavin Patel for winning the Texas Hold’em game and the HD Radio prize donated by Rodeo Ford. Thanks to Damon Polk for officiating the evening’s game.
